About Eating Out at Pisa Restaurants

(Pisa, Italy)

In common with the whole of Italy, the cuisine available in Tuscany is superb. Together with impressive and locally produced wines, Pisa is home to some truly memorable dining experiences.

Eating Out: Places to Eat in Pisa

Famed for its olive oil, delicate pastries and strong coffee, many of the most popular restaurants in Pisa are centred around the Leaning Tower, although these do not generally offer the best value for money and are very much aimed at the city's thriving tourist market. For traditional cuisine in Pisa, head to the Piazza Dante and Piazza Cavalieri areas of the city, where some of the best local eateries can be found. Inexpensive bars and eateries are also located around the narrow streets of Pisa's main market area, and close to the Piazza delle Vettovaglie.

The river banks of Pisa offer some of the city's most appealing eateries, while the historic medieval city and the regions surrounding the city's universities provide alternative and particularly inexpensive choices. Coffee and ice cream are also amongst the highlights in Pisa, together with street cafés and patisseries.
